International Trade

Trade has long since become international and very few businesses are not either acquiring goods or services or alternatively selling goods to supplying services across borders. Use of Incoterms for international logistics included Irish/UK trade will assume even greater importance in the light of Brexit. The importance of Trading Terms and Conditions has never been more important to limit liabilities and to ensure that in the event of dispute that the forum for resolving the dispute is not, by default, some far off land. The importance of nailing down new or even established distribution arrangements into formal agreements with protections for each party is more important than even. There are too many examples of distribution businesses trading over many years, even decades, with a manufacturer, only to find that they are dropped as a customer without notice or comeback. Continuity of ability to supply is more important than ever in the era of integrated supply chains and having proper notice of pending disruption is key.
